First of all, RIP Lance Riddick.
Now, on to the review:
I love gun-fu movies and John Wick’s special hyper-stylised yet also wonderfully fatal gun play is the stuff of dreams.

There was a scene with some birds flying, it was great. It was also 2 hours and 49 minutes long. And yes, I stayed for the after-credits scene.
The great things about this movie are the very well-shot and choreographed action sequences, it has a way stronger through-line narrative than previous entries, and all the characters are well-incorporated.
The problem with this movie is, you might miss or even get tired of all three of these things before you’re even halfway through the movie.
Apparently, it was a longer, the first cut went 3 hours and 45 minutes. And it felt like they did cut something but well, maybe they needed to cut a bit more.
Look, I don’t want to be Debbie Downer (sorry to all Debbie out there), the movie is good, it’s just, exhaustingly long.
A friend of mine had to go to the toilet twice during the movie. Twice.
I think the collective ADHD our generation has accumulated does not condone this length of a movie for so little actual movie.
It’s a lot of fighting, it’s a lot of fun but that’s also a lot of nothing. The thing is, I don’t think you can cut that. John Wick fighting and running is what John Wick is.
But enough about length, let’s talk about girth… no, width?
Anyway, Donnie Yen plays a cool blind man, Bill Skarsgård is everyone’s favourite nepo-villian and Shameir Anderson plays Tracker, who Trackerers.
The scenes between these 3 antagonists drive the story and the balance between the three as Wick’s friend, foe and foil make for wonderful scenes with each-other and satisfying story arcs.
Lance Riddick’s time on screen is short but his appearance drives Ian McShane’s character just as Fishburne’s opening soliloquy drives Wick.
There’s a lot to love about John Wick 4, there’s also a lot of John Wick 4.
To wrap it up I’ll explain my title. You see, Fast and Furious 2 were called 2 Fast 2 Furious. Some consider it the worst movie in that franchise but for me, it’s very fun, it’s easy to digest, and I liked it.
I think the consensus is that John Wick 4 is the best John Wick. I disagree but it’s very fun, despite its length it’s easy to digest, I liked it.
