If you live on campus or in Wivenhoe, this is the weekly update for your MP Bernard Jenkin’s activities in Parliament.

Speeches and contributions

Bernard Jenkin made one contribution to a debate in the Commons this week. On Tuesday he asked a question to Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Steve Baker, about a motion passed the previous week urging the government to release its sectoral impact assessments of Brexit. He stated it would be “unconscionable” for the government not comply with the motion, but he asked Mr Baker if he could suggest that the Chair of the Brexit Committee and the government have a private dialogue on how to resolve the matter without it becoming an issue that disrupts negotiations with the EU.

Votes

There were no divisions in the Commons this week, therefore Mr Jenkin did not cast any votes.
